Generally, the pickling and alkali-washing methods are adopted to clean the equipment. The so-called pickling method is that hydrochloric acid solution with 20% solute is splashed into the dirty part of the sand making machine, and, after about 10 minutes, it can be flushed with water. There may be some danger with this method due to the property of hydrochloric acid. The density of hydrochloric acid solution should be adjusted. While the solute density of hydrochloric acid solution is being adjusted, it should be noticed to constantly pour hydrochloric acid solution into water and to stir it constantly. In the adjustment process, you mustn’t pour water into hydrochloric acid solution because it will bring much risk, which means that in this way hydrochloric acid may splash up onto the operator and hurt him. It is also bad for the adjustment of the density.
